About Us

Teamsters Local 481 is over 3,000 members strong – representing a wide variety of San Diego’s finest people.

Our members work predominately in the automotive industry performing car and truck leasing, maintenance, parking services, rentals, repairs, sales and traffic directing. They work at such companies as Ace Parking, SP Plus, Avis and Hertz car rentals, Cal Pacific, Penske and Ryder truck rentals, Parkhouse Tire services and UPS to name a few.

In addition to the automotive industries listed above, we also represent the delivery service employees at La Mesa Lumber facilities. Relatedly, we represent delivery service and warehouse employees at Ferguson Enterprises (San Diego and El Cajon locations) and Westside Building Material (San Diego and National City locations).

Our members at the San Diego Zoo and Safari Park perform all duties from admissions, animal care- food preparation and training, building and grounds, construction and maintenance and food service to garage operations, graphics, merchandising, tour operations, warehousing and everything in between.

We also represent all of the employees at First Financial Planning and the Registered Nurses at Kindred Hospital as well.

All the members of Local 481 are committed to each other toward a workplace with dignity and respect. We fight for the long held Teamster traditions of better pay, benefits and working conditions.
